From the Head Teacher...
Friday, 22nd January 2010
Dear Parents and Carers,
We received some excellent news last week about how well our students performed in their GCSE exams that many of you may have seen in the national press. Not only was the percentage of students with 5 x A*- C grades our best ever, but our Value-Added figure again puts us in the top performing schools in the whole country. The Value-Added figure measures how much progress students make at a school – at QK, students make more progress than at 95% of schools in England!
On Thursday next week, there is a late start for students. They should arrive at school at 10.45am for registration.
Thank you to all those parents who attended the Year 11 Parents' Evening on Tuesday to speak to teachers about their child's Mock exam results and to discuss how to support them through the pressurised next few months. Very few parents were unable to attend; if you were one of them, you will be contacted in order to visit school, receive the Mock Report and sign for your child’s exam entries. We cannot make exam entries without your agreement and signature.
Jo Shuter, CBE
