Dear Parents and Carers,

As many parents will know, we were visited by Ofsted on Wednesday. This was slightly different to a normal inspection visit as they were visiting to look at examples of good practice especially in literacy. We were selected due to the fantastic progress that all students make at QK, especially in English.

The two inspectors visited a range of different lessons and talked to many students and staff. They were very impressed with absolutely everything! See below for an extract from an email from the Lead Inspector, Ms Gill Jones.

Thank you so much for your hospitality yesterday and for organising such a fruitful literacy survey visit. Please pass on our gratitude to all those we met who supported us throughout the day, particularly to our young guides (Michael Workeye and Zein Williams) who are fantastic ambassadors for your school! Mike and I took great pleasure in talking to your students and it quickly became evident that QK is a very special place to learn. Your focus on the whole child was demonstrated throughout the inspection and your drive for the best possible outcomes for students is second to none!

Ms Jones also asked if they could study some aspects of school life in greater detail as we are 'leading the way' in these areas.

Next week, we are also having visitors from the Local Authority to observe learning and I'm sure that they will be equally impressed with the progress that our students make in lessons.

A reminder that all parents / carers of Year 12 and 13 students are expected in school next Tuesday (4.30-7.00pm) for Parents' Evening. You will see all teachers of your child and will need to sign to authorise the exam entries.
