From the Head Teacher...
Friday, 12th March 2010
Dear Parents and Carers,
Some additional good news this week is that QK has gained "High-Performing Specialist School" status in recognition of the outstanding nature of our school. Over the next few weeks we shall be in discussions with the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust who will designate us with a second specialism. This is very prestigious and a well deserved accolade for everyone at the school.
As ever, the Inspector was incredibly impressed by the students that she met and by what they had to say about how they are taught and how they are supported at QK. Thank you so much to all students who took part in the survey – you were brilliant!
Thank you to all parents who attended the Year 9 Parents' Evening on Tuesday to find out more about the Options process and how well their sons'/daughters' are doing in school as they prepare for their Pathway Tests. Attendance was exceptionally high with only 12 parents not able to attend; with this kind of support from you, the year group will go on to great things!
Remember that the next time for parents to receive progress updates will be on Wednesday 31st March and Thursday 1st April Progress Review. Letters will be issued next week, please make sure that you return your reply slips to school as soon as possible to ensure you have a convenient appointment time allocated.
