If a student gets at least 5 GCSEs grade C or above, they can study a level 3 course (AS or A2 Level). If they do not get at least 5 GCSEs grade C or above they can study a level 2 BTEC course. BTEC First Certificates are practical, work-related courses. Students complete projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations and activities. The Certificate is equivalent to two GCSEs and provides a sound basis for starting an advanced work-related qualification in the sector.
