Key Stage 3

In Year 7, after a two-week introductory unit, each class rotates through three material areas with the same technology teacher. In Year 8 and above students have a specialist teacher for each material subject.

One single and one double period each week (one double in Year 9) in classes of about 20 students. Students should bring: pencils, black/blue pen, ruler, rubber, coloured pencils, glue stick to all technology lessons.

Year 7

Resistant Materials - Mini projects using wood, metal & plastics.

Food - Healthy eating: breakfast, lunch, dinner

Electronics - Light-emitting diodes, Steady hand game

Year 8

Resistant Materials - Architecture, computer design & clocks

Food Technology - Healthy eating: breakfast, lunch, dinner

Textiles - Tie die and batik boxer shorts

Year 9

Resistant Materials - CD rack

Graphics - Board games

Textiles - Storage unit
