Year 8

We shall be using the course book Tutti Insieme.

Term 1

  • Introductions and greetings
  • ASSESSMENT – speaking – general conversation (greetings, alphabet, numbers)

Term 2

  • Talking about school and giving opinions
  • Telling the time
  • ASSESSMENT – listening and reading – school timetable, lessons, opinions

Term 3

  • Talking about yourself, friends and family
  • Personal description and describing friends and family
  • ASSESSMENT – writing – writing a letter to someone about someone else (celebrity)

Term 4

  • Talking about hobbies and healthy living
  • Talking about where you go, what you do at the weekend and giving opinions
  • ASSESSMENT – reading – reading about someone’s hobbies, what they do, when and give their opinions.

Term 5

  • Describing your home
  • Rooms in the house
  • ASSESSMENT – listening to someone talking about their house, what they like and dislike and what their ideal house would be like.

Term 6

  • Talking about food and drink
  • Ordering food and drink and asking how much something costs
  • Quantities
  • END OF YEAR ASSESSMENT

Year 9

We shall be using the course book Tutti Insieme 2.

Term 1 - Holidays

  • Being able to talk about your holidays including your opinion and using the past tense
  • ASSESSMENT – speaking – general conversation about past, present and future holidays

Term 2 - Healthy living

  • Recognising body parts and ailments
  • Saying which sports and hobbies you do
  • ASSESSMENT – listening, writing and reading – listening to people talk about their ailments and giving advice. Writing about what they do to keep in shape and reading a letter about someone’s hobbies (including a range of tenses).

Term 3 - Clothing

  • Describing your clothing
  • Including colours and opinions
  • ASSESSMENT – writing about what you wear for different occassions

Term 4 - Social arrangements

  • Asking for and giving directions
  • Food and drink
  • ASSESSMENT – listening to people in town and in restaurants

Term 5 - TV and Cinema

  • Being able to use the 24 hour clock
  • Looking at different types of television programmes/films and giving your opinions on them
  • ASSESSMENT – writing about what films you like and dislike and being able to describe a film which you have recently watched

Term 6 - Project work

  • Watching and studying an Italian film La Vita è Bella
  • END OF YEAR ASSESSMENT
