The world and the ways we communicate are constantly evolving. Media Studies is the study of texts that students are exposed to on a daily basis, be they adverts, films, websites, or any of a seemingly never-ending list of methods of communication.

2010 Exam Results

• GCSE – 79% of students achieved A*-C with a 100% pass rate.
• A Level – 70% of students achieved A-C with a 100% pass rate.

Developments in the coming year

Over the next year we hope to welcome even more students into the Media Department providing them with more technology, more excitement and more opportunity. We are continually investing in new equipment so that the technologies used in lessons reflect industry standards.

Beyond QK

Students with qualifications in Media Studies have gone on to study an enormous number of subjects at university including English, Journalism, Film Production, Advertising, Marketing and ICT. Many of our ex-students have also started careers linked to these areas of study.
