Course Outline
The Edexcel Level 2 BTEC First Certificate in Health and Social Care consists of two core units plus one specialist unit.
The core units that you will cover are:
Unit 1 - Communication and Individual Rights within the Health and Social Care Sectors
Unit 2 - Individual Needs within the Health and Social Care Sectors
Unit 3 - Is a specialist unit which focuses on Human Lifespan Development
Who should do the course?
This course is for students that have an interest in working in the health care profession. The course is designed to provide a health related qualifications. The course provides the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to prepare learners for employment.
During the course you will...
- Have the opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised Level 2 vocationally specific qualification.
- Have the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised vocationally specific qualification to enter employment in the health and social care sector or to progress to higher education vocational qualifications such as the Edexcel Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Health Studies.
- Develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life.
Coursework
The qualification is based on assessment of each unit. The work will be internally assessed by your teacher and an internal verifier. All units consist of a set of formal assessment tasks/assignments and are 100% coursework.
