Citizenship
Citizenship at Quintin Kynaston is delivered across Key Stages 3 and 4 through our SPACE programme and through subject areas.
SPACE is taught once a week by Tutors. Topics include those traditionally taught in Social Education such as careers, health and sex education as well as many new topics. Such as making social and moral decisions and citizenship.
It aims to develop in all students:
- knowledge and understanding about becoming informed citizens
- skills of enquiry and communication
- participation and responsible action
This we believe leads to Active Citizenship and at QK is demonstrated by:
- Student Voice
- The Prefect System
- Peer Mentoring
- Community Week
- Established ongoing international co-operation with Lavenda Springs
- Reaction to topical events such as Bangladesh Flood Appeal
- Involvement in local issues: Golders Hill Park
