Is this course for me?

If you enjoy communicating with other people, learning about different countries and culture and want to be able to use these skills in a working environment, studying a GCSE in Italian is an excellent choice for you!

• You will add an international dimension to your choice of GCSE subjects which is something many future employers, colleges and universities look for.
• You will learn many skills which are useful in a wide range of future careers such as the ability to communicate clearly, being confident about speaking in public, using problem-solving strategies etc.
• You will create greater opportunities and will have better prospects when looking for a job.

Many employers look for people who speak a foreign language!

A trip to Italy is offered to GCSE language students to practise and develop their understanding of the language and gain an insight into the countries’ culture.

Assessment

The Faculty follows the Edexcel Examination Board: Students are entered for Foundation or Higher Tier in listening and reading whereas speaking and writing is untiered.
