For every faculty and year group, bespoke initiatives and activities have been created to maximise the benefits of individual learning experiences with respect to preparing for the working world.

During their academic career with us our students are given the opportunity to:

Work related learning at QK. Enabling you to learn: through work, about work, for work.
  • Meet members of industry.
  • Visit various organisations and companies.
  • Gain a mentor from the business world.
  • Hear from guest speakers.
  • Apply for internships during sixth form.
  • Apply for a place within the Academy of Finance and Academy of I.T.
  • Complete a two week work experience placement in year 10.
  • Pursue Enrichment activities.
  • Gain career specific work shadowing opportunities.
  • Have an individual careers interview.
  • Use online careers software.
  • Complete lessons specifically based on career/training choices.
  • Improve and gain key employability skills.
  • Gain specific qualifications in preparation for work
  • Take part in extra-curricular activities and trips.
  • Contribute to the development of the school through Student Voice.
  • Enhance leadership and team working skills through the delivery and management of school events such as talent shows, and community evenings.
  • Participate in enterprise activities such as the LionHeart Challenge a national enterprise challenge
