Drama
Why Learn Drama?
In every job you need confidence, self-esteem, quality of speech, the ability to adapt, social skills and the capacity to work in a team. Drama at QK can help you with all these areas and teach you the importance of empathy and understanding, questioning and forming opinions.
Performances
Drama performances continues to thrive at QK and recent productions include 100 Play and Teechers at A level, Heroin Lies, Bouncers and Shakers at GCSE and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory at KS3
In addition to acquiring practical presentation skills, Drama develops creativity, sensitivity and confidence and encourages an understanding of social, spiritual and moral values. Team-work, leadership, communication and confidence are needed to create performances. Most importantly though, students have the chance to experience the enjoyment that learning through Drama can bring.
Drama also enhances the National Framework for teaching English through engaging students in speaking, listening and reading skills.

Current Developments
The Drama Studio over the summer has been repainted, has new curtains, has new carpet. Looks fab! We are going to try and ensure that no shoes are worn in the studio to keep the carpet clean and to make it more functional for GCSE and Alevel students who use the floor for practical work.
Beyond QK
QK has excellent links with the Tricycle Theatre, Hampstead Theatre, Arts Ed, the Royal National Theatre, Millfield Theatre, Soho, DreamArts, casting agents and other organisations.
