Students may choose from a range of vocational BTECs and academic GCSEs specialising in one area of technology. The BTEC First Certificate is equivalent to two GCSEs and has only a Practical Assessment. There is no written examination. GCSE Design & Technology includes a substantial amount of theory with assessment by written examination and coursework.
